RC Originals Custom Signs

You sure can. We provide two purchasing options, each of which ensures you get exactly what you want for a custom sign: 1 - Direct Purchase (see: How do I customize and buy a sign?) 2 - Special Purchase (see: What if I need a designed from scratch sign?)

We call these "Direct Purchases" and it is as easy as 1,2 with RC Originals! (1) Just click the “Shop” menu item to find a sign design you would like customized to your exact specifications. From its product detail page, select your customization options and type your personalization text then add the item to your cart. (2) In the cart, verify that your options (i.e., specifications) are represented correctly, then checkout to complete your order. You will receive an email order confirmation within minutes. The next business day we will email you a full color mock-up of your custom sign for your approval. If the mock-up represents the sign you envisioned, simply reply to the email to let us know and we'll start to work on your beautiful custom sign. If you require changes to the design you can reply to the email describing what you would like changed. With each design change you will receive and updated mock-up. Once we have your approval we'll schedule your custom sign to be crafted. Upon completion (5 to 7 days following your approval) we will ship your order and provide you a tracking number. It's really that easy!

Easy; just click the "Customization Inquiry" menu item to open our Customization Inquiry email form. Enter the details of the sign you envision; complete the reCaptcha verification, then click the Send button to email the form to us. Base on the information you provide, we will create a design and email you a full color mock-up and price quote. If you are happy with the mock-up and price, simply reply to the email to let us know. if you require any changes to the design, reply with the details of the change(s) and we will provide you a new mock-up for your approval. Once we receive mock-up approval, we will send you an email with a link to a prvate purchase listing from which you can purchase your sign. Within 5 to 7 business days following your purchase we will create and ship your sign and provide you a tracking number.

We are diligent in sending an order confirmation email directly following completion of a purchase. The next business day we send a mock-up via email for your approval. Emails are sent to the email address provided during checkout. If you can’t find these emails in your inbox, please check your junk email folder. If you still can't find the email, please contact us ASAP via the "Contact Us" menu item at the top of this page. IMPORTANT: If after 2 weeks from the date of purchase, we don't receive approval of the mock-up or cumunication regarding it, we will have no choice but to cancel the order and provide you a full refund.

For "Direct purchases", described in the first FAQ, once we have received your approval of the mock-up, we will typically have your order ready to ship within 5 to 7 business days hence. For customized from scratch orders, (e.g., special orders) where you make your purchase from a private listing, we will typically have your order ready to ship within 5 to 7 business days following the purchase date.

After many years of creating over 3,400 beautiful custom wood signs for exterior use from 3/4 inch thick pine wood boards, we've transitioned to creating our beautiful signs from 3/4 inch thick solid PVC boards. The following comparison between ¾ inch wood pine board, versus ¾ inch PVC board convinced us that signs made from solid PVC would outlast wood signs by many years; especially given the top quality exterior paints, stains and clear-coat with UV protection we use on all our signs. Wood signs, especially those made from softwood such as pine, by nature contain moisture. Weather and temperature changes can cause the moisture in the wood to contract and expand; this can result in damage to even the best of exterior finishes. The expansion and contraction can also result in warping and possibly cracking of the wood. Any perforation of the protective coatings (paint, stain, clear coat) can allow the wood to absorb even more moister exacerbating the problem. Solid 3/4 inch PVC sign board does not contain or absorb moisture and are not affected by expansion and contraction due to moisture in the way that wood is, thus warping and cracking is mitigated. The solid PVC board has a projected exterior life span of up to 20 years. PVC Sign Options: We have three options for the sign face finish: 1 - A stained wood look, in a variety of popular stain colors, 2 - A satin solid exterior paint finish in a variety of popular colors, 3 - Natural bright white (standard solid pvc board color). We have two options for the PVC texture of the sign face: 1 - Smooth, 2 - Wood grain. We have 2 options for the v-carved text, numbers and graphics of our signs: 1 - Bright white (standard solid PVC color), or 2 - Choose from a variety of colors for solid color and stained wood look color.
